Taghmon contains two cast iron drinking fountains/water hydrants. These are are located at Main Street and at the very bottom of Stream Street. They were supplied by Glenfield and Kennedy Ltd of Kilmarnock, Scotland and date from circa 1899 to 1910. Distinctive pieces of street furniture, they were originally operated by twisting a knob on the side, which allowed water to come out if the lion’s mouth.
